Glad you made those weekend trading plans?

Today’s news from China (more in a sec ICYMI) is a huge example of why I’m an anti-rigidity nut.

Traders are told that they simply MUST have their plans and levels all laid out in advance.

OBVIOUSLY, preparation is important.

Just not to the extent that when something really obvious is happening right in front of them, they don’t know what to do.

They freeze.

Then they take comfort in ‘being disciplined’, and ‘sticking to the plan’ (coping), while missing glaring opportunities right in front of them because their brains can’t deal with any level of uncertainty or variance.
