🔔Dalio: Buy stuff, not bonds

Today's Opening Belle 🔔 is in partnership with Equos - the institutional standard crypto exchange open to all.

They've just launched their EQO token to reward traders for using the platform...

This time last year, the S&P 500 fell by more than 10% in a single day...

What a difference a year makes!

Now at all time highs and looking for another (tech-led) leg higher...

On the data front, February retail sales and industrial production both came in below forecasts.

Retail sales for January were revised higher too and are expected to trend higher again from next month (stimulus, reopening, improving weather)...

Hot 🔥 Or Not ⛔

One that's HOT 🔥

Volkswagen gapped higher on the open after revealing plans to sell 1 million electric or hybrid cars this year...

VW also expects its profit margins to recover through 2021 and pick up through 2022...

The German automaker expects one in five cars sold by the group will be electric by 2025, rising to 50 per cent by 2030...

Markets liked the announcement...

One that's NOT ⛔

The VIX has fallen back below 20, but that's a good thing...

The market 'fear gauge' is settling down again, with 20 often cited as THE level that separates fear and relative stability.

It's never that simple of course, but at it's heading in the right direction...

Utrust just keep growing

We've been big fans of Utrust for a long time.

Their crypto payment solutions are second to none, and HOLD is off to a great start too!

Who doesn't love math? 😍 We ran the numbers, and we can proudly say that:

➡ We processed over 10.000.000€;

➡ More than 10.000 users signed up

➡ And +1.500.000 $UTK are locked and purchased from the markets via reverse staking!

Just a glimpse of what's to come! 😎💯 pic.twitter.com/xA2xKKErFo— Hold (@HoldHQ) March 10, 2021

Plus $UTK 🚀

"Cash is trash"

“The economics of investing in bonds (and most financial assets) has become stupid,”

“Rather than get paid less than inflation why not instead buy stuff — any stuff — that will equal inflation or better?”

Not sure you can build a whole investing thesis around 'just buy stuff'...

Thankfully he makes some thought-provoking points and comments on big problems that still need to be solved...

These extremely low or nonexistent yields do not meet these asset holders’ funding needs. For example, pension funds, insurance companies, sovereign wealth funds, and savings accounts cannot meet their financial needs with these investments so holding bonds assures their failure to meet their obligations.

Thanks for all the responses to Friday's AUA (Ask Us Anything).

We'll start answering them all from tomorrow!
