I’m REALLY hating markets right now

Because I’m seeing lots of warning signs that I just don’t like, while also wanting to stay optimistic and permanently bullish.

One little warning was the US labour market report on Friday.

On the surface, it’s all pretty much fine.

Jobs were created, average hourly earnings were higher than expected at 0.4%.

BUT, the unemployment rate ticked higher, and was only a whisker away from rounding up to 4.3%.

The participation rate was lower too, meaning the labour force shrank somewhat.

This would usually push the unemployment rate lower.

If you reduce the size of the labour force, and the same number of people (or more) have jobs, then the unemployment rate should go down.
